Morning Prayer

During the summer of 2011, the idea of having a Morning Prayer call was birthed within the hearts of a couple of our leaders. The idea came from the scriptural admonition found in the Gospel of John (John 15:5) that apart from Him (Jesus) we can do nothing and our burning desire to achieve the goals God has placed in our hearts. The bottom line is our request, “Lord, teach us to pray.”
Our format is quite simple. We briefly greet the participants, we read from God’s Word (the foundation for all prayer), some of the brothers present on the call share their thoughts regarding the passage we have read, we share requests and praise reports, and then as many as care to do so pray. The calls began being about thirty minutes long and presently last for about an hour. We presently have people participating from the US, the UK, and Canada.
Those desiring to participate can do so either by phone or over the Internet. Connecting by phone allows you to share in the call. The number to connect is always the same: (718) 290-9983. The PIN for the calls is 653429#. Instructions are given for folks as to how to voice their requests or praise reports. Those wanting to use the Internet can listen and submit requests and praise reports using the link that is found when you receive our weekly newsletters. The link is different for each call. Also found on that link is a box saying “submit your questions.” That is the tool that allows praise reports and prayer requests to be submitted. The same can be sent during the days prior to each call and during the call.
