In John 15:5, Jesus told his church, "…apart from me (cut off from vital union with me) you can do nothing (Amplified)."
It is the conviction of our leadership that since beginning Legacy Minded Men over 4 years ago, one of the most important things we have done is to begin our early Morning Prayer calls. On Monday and Thursday mornings each week, at 6am sharp, men gather by phone and over the Internet to study and share from God's Word, share our hearts, and pray for one another and those we know are in need. Some men are in their favorite spot at home, some are in their cars, a few are out walking, and some are already at their office desks. All are tuned in, very attentive, and few leave the call before it is over.
During these calls we don't focus on any requests until we have spent time looking at God's Word. Hours of preparation and prayer go before each call and there are normally at least 3 or 4 men sharing their thoughts after the ground has been laid from a passage of scripture. We do this because as the Word is shared, men focus on the real issues and not on the things that would take us away from the center of God's will. The end result of praying this way is that we find confidence and boldness in coming to the throne of God as indicated by 1 John 5:14,15.
These times have been characterized by an awesome sense of God's presence – one of those things you have to experience to believe.
